Bridgeton Praise & Prayer - songlist

1.Blessed Assurance

1.Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
I'm born of his Spirit and washed in his blood

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

2.Perfect submission, perfect delight
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy and whispers of love

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

3.Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blessed
You know I'm watching and waiting, I'm looking above
Filled with His goodness and I'm lost in his love

This is my, I know that this is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

2.Praise Him, Praise Him

1 Praise him! praise him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O earth his wonderful love proclaim!
Hail him! hail him! highest archangels in glory,
Strength and honor give to his holy name!
Like a shepherd Jesus will guard his children --
In his arms he carries them all day long:

Refrain:
Praise him! praise him! tell of his excellent greatness!
Praise him! praise him! ever in joyful song!

2 Praise him! praise him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
For our sins he suffered and bled and died;
He our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation,
Hail him! hail him! Jesus the Crucified.
Sound his praises -- Jesus who bore our sorrows --
Love unbounded, wonderful, deep and strong: [Refrain]

3 Praise him! praise him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Heav'nly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth for ever and ever,
Crown him! crown him! Prophet and Priest and King!
Christ is coming, over the world victorious --
Pow'r and glory unto the Lord belong: [Refrain]

3.To God Be the Glory

1.To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

2.O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

3.Great things He has taught us, great things He has done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done...

He is for you, He is for you
He is for you, He is for you

5.I Am Thine O LORD

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow'r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Oh the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

6.Rescue the Perishing

  1. 1.Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
    Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave;
    Weep o’er the erring one, lift up the fallen,
    Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.
    • Refrain:
      Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
      Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.
  2. 2.Though they are slighting Him, still He is waiting,
    Waiting the penitent child to receive;
    Plead with them earnestly, plead with them gently;
    He will forgive if they only believe.
  3. 3.Down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter,
    Feelings lie buried that grace can restore;
    Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness,
    Chords that were broken will vibrate once more.
  4. 4.Rescue the perishing, duty demands it;
    Strength for thy labor the Lord will provide;
    Back to the narrow way patiently win them;
    Tell the poor wand’rer a Savior has died.

7.Redeemed How I Love to Proclaim It

  1. 1. Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it,
  2. Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
  3. Redeemed thro’ His infinite mercy,
  4. His child, and forever, I am.

  5. Refrain
  6. Redeemed, redeemed
  7. Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb,
  8. Redeemed, redeemed
  9. His child, and forever, I am.

  10. 2. Redeemed and so happy in Jesus
  11. No language my rapture can tell,
  12. I know that the light of His presence
  13. With me doth continually dwell.

  14. 3. I think of my blessed Redeemer,
  15. I think of Him all the day long,
  16. I sing, for I cannot be silent,
  17. His love is the theme of my song.

  18. 4. I know I shall see in His beauty,
  19. The King, in whose law I delight,
  20. Who lovingly guardeth my foot-steps,
  21. And giveth me songs in the night.

Praying for Bridgeton - Lent 2019

I hope that you are experiencing great blessings as you pray through Seek God for the City. I firmly believe that we pray best when we pray together -- unified for the purposes of Christ. I know that I get excited by our commitment to this, and I wholly believe that God does too! He loves our unity and he loves when we pray for his kingdom experiences.

Please know that as you are praying through this 40-day commitment, I am praying for you. I have been compelled by the Spirit to pray for you in four ways.

First, I am praying that your prayer life will become more and more passionate. I'm asking that you will grow in desire and enthusiasm to pray in this way.

Second, I'm praying that this will be a purifying experience for you. As you spend time in the presence of our holy God, seeking him and praying his promises for us, I'm praying that his holiness will inspire you to throw off everything that hinders you to experience him and all his fullness.

Thirdly, I'm praying that your prayers will be purposeful. I'm asking that you will grow to understand more and more how to pray "fulfill it prayers," not only "fix it prayers." I'm asking that you'll grow in your understanding of how to pray for the promises of God that we read of in the scriptures and the blessings that are ours in Christ.

Fourthly, I'm asking that your prayers will be powerful. I believe firmly, as Paul mentions in Philippians 4, that our God is desiring to supply all our needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. May God's kingdom come and his will be done in our lives and throughout the Bridgeton area, just as it is in heaven.

Amen

SEEK GOD for the CITY - Lent Prayer & Devotion

The congregations of the Bridgeton Christian Minister's Association are bonding together in PRAYER and DEVOTION once again during LENT to pray for the Great City of Bridgeton.
In addition some congregations are forming fasting chains.

*You can ALSO get specific PRAYER TARGETS for Bridgeton on the site, listed on the top of the right column. They will be communicated from Mayor Kelly and updated periodically.

If you don't have a SEEK GOD for the CITY booklet you can obtain one by either contacting the Union Baptist Church Office, or through waymakers.org. Ap's for the online version are also available through the website.

One of the main thrusts of the booklet this year is that we not pray "fix it" prayers, but that we pray "fulfill - it" prayers, asking God to release power and bless us with his promises.

Interceding for his kingdom to come and his will to be done,
Pastor Jamie Bagley

Please Pray for Bridgeton, Monday, 8/20

Dear Praying Pastors and Church Leaders,

I received a call this evening from Mayor Kelly requesting prayer. His heart was obviously heavy after another shooting in the city this afternoon, the third tragic shooting in the past 5 weeks.

On 7/17 a  9 yer old girl was killed by a stray bullet while sleeping in her bed.
On 8/12 Erica McNair was killed outside her home.
Again, tonight a man was shot.

Please be in prayer...
1.Ask the LORD to be on the move for peace in the streets of Bridgeton.
2.In the Name of Jesus, come against the forces of evil behind those involved in  the related criminal activity.
3.Pray the the Comforter will be powerfully present to those who are scared, troubled, confused, hurting, grieving... from these recent events.
4.Pray wisdom and strength for our city officials and law enforcement as they respond to the needs of the people.

Along with the concern for those who have been directly affected by these tragic events, we are also concerned for the general welfare and perspective of our city. There have been a number of positive things happening in Bridgeton this summer in regard to our Parks and Recreation, new business ventures and programs for people of all ages. We want to celebrate what God is doing.

Please be in prayer...
Ask the LORD to help us all maintain a positive perspective on the recent advancements which have been a blessing to the people of Bridgeton.
Pray that the recent tragic events will not overshadow, or deter, the good things that are happening. Many of these positive happenings have been the direct result of answered prayer.
Ask the LORD to strengthen and move powerfully through His Church in Bridgeton as we respond to the needs of our city and come alongside those who ar hurting.

For Jesus and His Church in Bridgeton,
Pastor Jamie Bagley

The final stretch!

One year ago we asked people from area congregations to join together in prayer and fasting for Bridgeton. The commitment was until the end of August 2018, now just a little more than one month away.

I want to remind you of the words the Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the believers of Philippi, to encourage them to "finish strong." Paul wrote...
...one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

*In the original language Paul used a word (for "press on toward") in this sentence that described the way a runner would lunge for the finish line

As we hit the final stretch we recognize that there are many great needs before us. These needs may propel those who were originally behind this effort to strategize ways we can continue on in this vein, so stay tuned...!!!

Here are the needs before us as we enter the home stretch of your commitment:
1.Pray for the family, friends, classmates... of the young girl who recently died in her sleep, from a stray bullet. Ask that God's grace will be sufficient for those who grieve.

1b.Pray for the community, who wants justice. Pray for the Police investigation. Let justice flow like a mighty river.
1c.Pray for peace in our streets. The Mayor has previously asked us to pray that Bridgeton will be known as a city of peace and prayer.

2.Pray for our Parks and Recreation areas. We celebrate the prayer that has been answered for Sunset Lake -- which has now passed a second test for water safety.
Ask that our Parks be a place of enjoyment and that families would experience refreshing from their usage.

3.Pray for the partnership of the gospel among congregations in Bridgeton.
Ask for the LORD to lead our pastors to deeper unity.
Ask for a shared vision of ministry and wisdom to know how we can mobilize to see God's kingdom come and will done in our community.

A Week Without Crime

Recently Mayor Kelly asked several churches to pray around the clock for Bridgeton. The goal was to cover the city in prayer. His hope was t...
